Years ago, when I was regularly conducting seminars, I began to notice a
common element in many of the university weight rooms I’d visit. I’d always see
towels folded over the tops of power racks and taped at their ends. I assumed
these were used for chins and grip work, but I also thought about what a pain it
would be if anyone had to remove them. It also looked like these towels could
potentially get in the way of any overhead work done in these racks.
It occurred to me that “short ropes” would be a much better option for this
purpose, but I mistakenly assumed another company was already putting out such a
product, so the idea went on the backburner for a few years.
After this, I knew it was time to revisit the “short ropes” idea. We tested a
few versions that didn’t really satisfy what I was looking for, then finally
tried them at a length of 9 feet. Once we’d hung them up, I knew we had
something with which people would absolutely love to train. Now, instead of
being limited to performing various grip holds and wide chins, we had an
affordable attachment that enabled us to do more movements than we’d ever
thought possible.
These ropes are sold as a pair, and they come with straps that will loop over
any power rack or chin bar. Here are just some of the movements you can do with
the EFS Dual Rack Ropes:
