I received my EFS rack about three months ago and wanted to let you know how happy I am with the purchase. I can do everything that I want to do and accomplish it safely in the rack. I lift alone about half the time. The close spacing of the holes puts the safety pins right where they need to be, even for movements like floor presses, not to mention the opportunity for various lockouts and pin movements. J hooks are as good as they are hyped up to be.
I built the rack floor out of two, eight foot 3/4" pieces of plywood screwed together. The front piece was two, 3/4" four foot sections of plywood put together. The front piece is not fixed to the main section and allows me to fold it up so that the car still fits in the garage. I nailed cheap, thin, Home Depot carpet (approximately $20) to the edges and painted the edges of the wood black. I fixed the rack with 3/8" carriage bolts. For this I just drilled pilot holes, removed the rack, and used a wood agar bit underneath so that the bolt heads were set in. I dropped the floor, set the rack, and bolted it down. The floor cost me about $120 in materials and has been perfect so far.
I was close to getting a cheaper option, but I can tell you that I’m glad I spent the extra cash because I am not limited at all in this rack. It would have defeated the purpose of getting out of the commercial gym scene by getting the same bad equipment that I was trying to escape.
