A LITTLE CONDITIONING AND SOME OHP
Rolling into the 1's week with my 5/3/1 programming. The more I do, the better I feel
5/3/1 I AIN'T DOING JACK SH!T DEADLIFT DAY
This is a great auto-regulation (fancy term for listening to your body) technique
FINISHING OFF A WEEK AND STARTING A NEW ONE
My schedule is dictating (that is an odd sounding word isn't it) that I train three days in a row. No biggie, just feeling beat up, but that's the norm.
5/3/1 SETTING MY TRAINING MAXES
The first day back to actually training for some strength. OHP day was a success
I KILLED MY TREADMILL
Maybe it was a sign, maybe the world wants me to join a commercial gym, maybe I should just give up cardio.
WEEK 2 OF 5/3/1 GPP BLOCK
The more I do, the better I feel. Doing The Bull Dance - Feeling The Flow.
OPERATION BE LESS FAT – A YEAR OF EATING IIFYM
I went from eating ultra low carb to a more flexible approach. I ate carbs during the day and I lived to tell about it.
5K COMPLETED!
I SET A GOAL AND I HIT IT. IT'S NOT A HEAD TURNING PERFORMANCE, BUT IT'S A FAR CRY FROM WHERE I STARTED.
I'M BACK TO KICKING ASS!
WEEK 1 OF GPP BLOCK. BACK TO SQUATTING AND DEADLIFTING. CONDITIONING IS ON POINT. I'M MAKING QUALITY PROGRESS.
SETTING UP MY NEXT 5/3/AWESOME MESOCYCLE
I am putting together my next month of training. You'd think I was splitting the atom. Keeping everything in working order takes some thought. Also, updated with last week's deload.
WEEK THREE OF 5/3/AWESOME - CONDITIONING/RECOVERY
Still getting my body whole while doing my thang. To clear up any confusion from the picture, that is not my butt.
REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD
Log update with week 3 of training purgatory, my 5/3/Awesome rehab program and a visit from the Mayor
AN AWESOME WEEK OF LIVING AND ONE FUPPED DUCK WEEK OF TRAINING
Maybe if I settled for average I would stop ruining myself.
JUNE SEMINAR WITH HANDS ON COACHING
The single best way to improve your lifting is through hands on coaching.
A New Chapter
With the Wendler NOV Invitational Meet behind him, Vincent is forging ahead with Operation Be Less Fat. He plans on dropping down to hit a meet in the 198's — his sixth weight class. This all happens while moving into a new house, having a stressful year of work, and keeping his wife and dog happy. You know, life stuff.
No Longer Chasing the Bench — Leaving the Platform After 30 Years
I am not leaving the sport. I love this sport and even more so, the people in it, but the juice is no longer worth the squeeze.
MY MEET REPORT...THE JUICE IS NO LONGER WORTH THE SQUEEZE
At first thought I was tucking tail, but perspective has me walking off with my head held high
FOAM ROLLING, TRIGGER POINT, MASSAGE, ETC, ETC
My training is like the movie Groundhog Day right now. Not sexy, but effective
THE LAST TWO WEEKS LEADING UP TO A MEET CAN BE THE MOST IMPORTANT
The hard work is done at this point. It's doing the little tedious things that matter now.
SNATCHING VICTORY FROM THE JAWS OF DEFEAT - KIND OF
The last true full week of meet prep. Much last the last few weeks, could have gone better, but could have gone worse. Live to fight another day.
LAST WEEK IN ITS ENTIRETY
I like to post more often, but sometimes I just can't get to it as much as I'd like. Looking at a full week of training can be useful regardless.
OPERATION BE LESS FAT – WHERE TRAINING COLLIDES WITH CALORIE DEFICIT
As if training is not hard enough, doing it in a calorie deficit really sucks. I long for the days of pre-workout boxes of Ring Dings.
DIALING IT ALL IN ONE MONTH OUT FROM COMPETING
I think it's really important to formulate a solid plan one month out from a meet. Sometimes things do not go as planned for a training cycle. You need to be intuitive and make changes where necessary to set yourself up for success.
DON'T MAJOR IN ASSISTANCE WORK, BUT AT LEAST MINOR IN IT
Thanks to Rhodes and Wendler I am starting to figure out how assistance fits in with my program
OPERATION BE LESS FAT – IS THE INTERNET RUINING YOUR DIET
The internet, one of the greatest and worst inventions of all time.
Operation Be Less Fat: A Year In Review
I started 2015 with a plan. Like most plans, it had to change throughout the year. I learned a lot and have even more to accomplish.
