Shosin is a word that means beginner's mind.⁣

Those who have been around training for many years will remember what it was like when they caught the Iron Bug.⁣

A new world opened and the search for information was real. A willingness to look high and low for information - with a completely open mind.⁣

All disciplines, methods, programs, and principles were sought, to a point that it didn’t take long to begin to see the same things over and over.⁣

This just made the thirst greater, as we knew there was more to seek, learn, and find. With this passion, more doors were found that unlocked greater wealth of information and more and more rabbit holes to dive down and discover.⁣

This receptiveness and open mindedness is not only part of the process, it IS the process.⁣

The spirit of the beginner is one that everyone seeking the highest understanding of the training process must never lose.⁣

There is always more to learn, and what we think we know is a fraction compared to what we don’t know.⁣

“In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities; in the expert's mind there are few” - Shunryu Suzuki in Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind
