Christmas is about traditions and I'm all about traditions. I don't get caught up in the commercialism of Christmas but rather spend time with Family and Friends and keep some traditions alive.

The bench crew was over for bench night and I had a commitment to my Kettlebell girls for our annual Christmas Cookie Exchange. So while the crew benched I skipped training because this was also important to me. This week has gotten away from me with everything I had to do and in amongst my caos I even threw in a job interview and testing. When it rains it pours for me. The bench crew got to sample my goodies, so everyone was happy!

With my Outlaw Kettlebell girls  we have our annual Christmas Cookie exchange. It's simple, how ever many people want to participate, you bake that many cookies. Last night we had 8 people so we each baked 8 dozen different types of cookies. Package them separately however you want to present them, no prize for the prettiest but its fun to fancy it up a bit. I have to say the girls outdid themselves, what a great exchange.

Then we exchange and at the end of the night everyone has the same amount of cookies they baked but a huge variety. A great way to have a Christmas platter to share with friends and family, and its fun. Below you will see my favourite recipes but here is the final product of our exchange.

So Tis the season to be jolly and make cookies. I’m here to share two of my favourite recipes. You see I’m not a baker but this is easy, it’s stove top cooking at its finest.

I always double the recipe and keep them in the freezer, they taste amazing cold.

 CHOCOLATE MACAROONS/ HAYSTACKS

INGREDIENTS

2 CUPS WHITE SUGAR

½ CUP BUTTER

1 CUP COCONUT

3 CUPS OATMEAL

½ CUP MILK

6 TABLESPOONS OF COCOA

In large sauce pan melt butter and cocoa first, then add sugar and milk.

Bring to boil over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add oatmeal and coconut.

Stir quickly and drop on pan covered in wax paper, cookies harden quick you need to work fast.

This recipe makes approximately 30 cookies.

TWO MINUTE CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE

This is the easiest fudge you will ever make. 3 Ingredients, 2 minutes in microwave.

INGREDIENTS

 12 PEANUT BUTTER CUPS

1 PACKAGED OF CHOCOLATE CHIPS

1 CAN OF CONDENSED MILK

Line glass 9 x 9 pan with peanut butter cups, cover them with the chocolate chips, pour the condensed milk over top.

Put in microwave for 2 minutes, remove, stir ingredients together.

You can leave in this pan to harden or put into a long 9 x 12 pan lined with wax paper. Cool, cut into squares and enjoy. This too is best cold or frozen.

Pictured here, for your viewing pleasure, my version of a Christmas tradition, yummy!
