I’m currently in meet prep for the 2015 IPA Grand Prix Nationals at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on October 24th, in Columbus, Ohio. I will be competing at 132 pounds, raw with knee wraps.

Saturday morning, my training partner Trey and I woke up at the crack of dawn to drive over to train at Elitefts. We were down a few people at my place and felt it was best to travel over there to get some help. There was going to be a good crew at the compound, so we figured it was a good reason to get over there and train. It was great to see Matt Smith, Joe Schillero, Yessica Martinez, Casey Williams, Dave, Alycia, and many others.
Coming into the session I was just feeling drained. I've mentioned how my body has been telling me it's time, and this session really let me know it. The good thing is, weights didn't feel heavy, I just had no desire to really get under the bar...but being at the compound that quickly changed. I got all my work in and things look to be about perfect. I'm not longer taking any more heavy squats or deadlifts, so it's all in the books. The rest is now saved for the platform.
I really can't thank Team Elitefts enough for letting me travel over and always teaching me something every time I walk in the compound doors. Anyone that's been blessed enough to come there either for a seminar or visit will echo my thoughts, I promise you. You instantly pick up something to help your training. Moving forward, I hope to be able to travel over a bit more after the meet to train with Joe, Dave, and Matt Smith.
I recently traded in "Black Betty" for "Octavia", and a part of me hates that I got a HEMI, but she's getting some good gas mileage over there (25 mph). I didn't feel so bad after talking to Dave when he told me he dropped a super charger in his murdered out Suburban, haha. Thank goodness it can kill the cylinders when I'm on the interstate 🙂

Thanks for the kind words my man!
Unfortunately I keep my long term goals limited to only a select few people. My powerlifting idol and mentor is teammate Brian Schwab. If I can replicate half of what he has done in the sport, I'll be a happy camper. But I will tell you that I will not be raw forever. I do plan on doing both raw and equipped lifting in the near future. I'm just waiting for the right time for that to happen. I'm hoping I can get started on that sooner or later, but we'll see what life throws at me.
Thanks again!
