I’m currently in meet prep for the 2015 IPA Grand Prix Nationals at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on October 24th, in Columbus, Ohio. I will be competing at 132 pounds, raw with knee wraps.

Saturday marked my heaviest deadlift training day of the meet prep cycle. I will be honest, I just wasn't feeling like that great of a day. I still managed to pull 510 from the floor (which will give me a meet PR), but things just weren't clicking like usual. My hips were feeling it and I just didn't have the pop I'm used to. I've begun to notice this is a reoccurring theme during meet preps at this point. I think many times is just from the accumulation of work on everything, that my body is just telling me it's time to rest up and get ready for meet day. I'm most cases, usually by this point the body is just ready to go. Luckily, I'm almost at the home stretch and should have everything nearly wrapped up. I got the work in, but it could have been better. I'm confident things will click come meet day, as they seem to do so when it comes to deadlift. I always deadlift after a good week of rest, so almost there.
