As part of the Elitefts Stronger Business professional summit, attendees were allowed to train at the S4 Compound Friday night and Sunday, the final training sessions before the move to the new gym. I went up Friday night along with two of my training partners, Shane Thiel and Josh Cioca. We trained with a couple of my usual weekend training partners, Lily and JD.
We planned to squat and somehow I got talked into squatting in full gear. I've squatted once or twice in briefs and wasn't any good at it, but never used a suit before. Here is how it went:
Box Sqauts:
Raw
Bar x 10
145x5
235x5
325x3
415x2
Briefs on:
465x1
505x1
555x1
595x1
Suit on, Straps Down:
635x1
675x1
Straps up:
735x1
775x1
Thankfully in addition to my training group, Nick Showman and Nate Harvey, who are both very, very good equipped lifters and also very good coaches were there to help me along the way. There is so much more that goes in to equipped lifting. All or my reps felt relatively easy and I'm sure I had more in the tank.
One of the many mistakes I made in this session was taking small jumps. I'm not comfortable making plate jumps past 405 lifting raw, but geared you have to or you'll be wrecked by the time you get to your top sets.
Thanks to everyone mentioned who helped me out! And to JD for lending me his Metal Jack Squat Suit.
