7 Weeks from UPA Winter Rack Attack

The past few weeks have been hectic (with a lot of great stuff), but I also had some injuries that prevented any of my training from being log-worthy. 2 weeks ago I strained my hip flexor really bad and couldn't do any lower body training the entire week (walking was difficult). I was originally worried I might've tore more of my labrum, but since it's feeling better now (almost back to where it was before), I think it was just a bad strain. With my hips already being pretty jacked up, I definitely have to be careful, and I'm far enough from my meet that I could afford to rest (and training has been going well otherwise).

I also traveled all last week for a Conference at Baldwin Wallace University to present on Mental Health and Exercise, and then went to Columbus to run the Open UGSS with John Meadows. Both were an awesome experience and it was a great week for learning and passing on!

My registration is in for the UPA Winter Rack Attack, so that will be my next competition. Aside from those hip issues, my training has been going well and I look forward to getting on the platform again. I also have some more seminars approaching, with an ROTC Seminar I'm doing at John Carroll this month, and then a Speed and Strength Seminar at Robert Morris University in December. Busy, but all great things!

Competitively - My last competition was the UPA Summer Showdown August 6th - And my next meet is the UPA Winter Rack Attack on December 17th (competing raw at 220lbs). This will be my second meet back transitioning to competing raw, and my goal entering next year is to qualify for a larger raw competition (whether it be at the Arnold or elsewhere).
