Something that has been key in my efforts to improve as a lifter has been focusing on staying consistent. In my training, my nutrition, and technique. My goal is to make the bar, 135, 315, and so on look exactly the same. Additionally, that means my set up-- from how I walk up to the bar, to the little steps that lead to executing the lift-- are also the same.

I find that developing a process/checklist that I can go through every time I approach the bar: 1) helps me stay grounded/not get psyched out about how much I'm about to lift-- because I'm focusing on my process, not the outcome; 2) helps me keep me accountable in practicing technique development. For me-- what's the point of a great PR if you can't replicate it? While we can't always control for external factors, we can control what WE do in training and on the platform. Me being the control freak that I am-- process oriented focus has been and continues to be a big part of how I train.
