Thanks to the wisdom and kindness of Clint Darden, I was lucky enough to be a guest on the Motivation and Muscle Podcast. Through an introduction and recommendation to Eric Fiorillo, Clint opened the doors for an elitefts teammate to further expand into the world of training and coaching. Anytime a Team Elitefts member is on another podcast, I feel it's a great opportunity for a positive exchange of ideas outside of our normal platform.
This was the first time I had spoken to Eric, although it felt we had known each other for a lot longer period of time. Eric is very passionate about what he is doing and as someone who has also hosted a podcast, I fully understand the work it takes to push out a quality product.
A huge thank you goes out to Eric, Clint, and obviously Dave Tate for allowing me to represent Team Elitefts. Please excuse the the extra-curricular noise of my three daughters during the recording. I apologized profusely to Eric for the lack of professionalism. Being the stand-up guy he is, didn't mind and kept the interview (more like a discussion) going.
MARK WATTS-INTRODUCTION-#484
Mark Watts-Introduction-#484-Eric Fiorillo The Host of The Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Podcast Show Welcomes a fifth grade school teacher, competitor in powerlifting, strongman, and Olympic Weightlifting and USMC veteran Mark Watts to the Broadcast. Eric introduces Mark to our family for the first time. We start right off in prime fashion with learning to step back from training and coaching and finding new ways to bring our training back to much higher levels and to reinforce our minds that it’s possible again. Eric tells Mark about his bicep tear in Iceland and how that one event in his life changed all of his dynamics to creating a successful training success. Eric tells Mark about a good friend of his who was a superior Olympic Lifter and got a lower back injury. After much rehab he was back to his old form. Then something strange kept happening. Every time he got close to his peak lifts another injury occurred. We know now that he just never mentally recovered and when fear has that kind of grip around you a come back is short lived. We talk deeply about success, goals and growing with experience. Mark talks heavily about experience and how real success can come easily but can you step up when adversity is thrust right into your face? We talk about the monster amount of information there is out there today and what applies to your coaching and training and what does not. Mark tells Eric that we all need a filter when it comes to what we apply to our training success. We talk about who your training with and how important it is to have others around you with your gym success in mind. These are people that care enough about your success to not only support you but to give honest critical thought to what your doing. Eric and Mark will really make you think. Will your thoughts work for you or against you? The Motivation and Muscle Podcast Connects Your Brain To Your Brawn. Enjoy!
