Bobcat BarBelles is a 9-week Women's Strength Training Program where participants will meet once-per-week to learn about various topics in women's health, fitness, nutrition, injury prevention, and training program design. Participants also meet once per week with their BarBelles small group to learn and practice technique for the Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, and Overhead Press. The goal of the program is to not only educate the female participants on various aspects of training and exercise, but also empower them to reach their goals and to feel confidence training in any weight room they step foot into.

We kicked off the Bobcat BarBelles program this week and we're extremely excited to get things rolling. We sold out the program with 35 students (with an additional waiting list) and we're already looking at ways we can build upon this program and even collaborate with other school's programs like OSU next semester.

A few years ago I started helping coach the "Buckeye BarBELLES" program that Alycia Israel started at Ohio State University; and was excited to expand upon our own version of the program here at Ohio University. Women's strength training is becoming more and more widely-embraced, and it's been awesome to see female college students make the decision to become Strong(her). We're looking forward to seeing these programs only continue to grow into the future.
