Finished this week with coaching at a meet!

Conventional Deadlifts

Using a pretty close stance. I worked up to 545 lbs wearing just my spud belt.

I dropped down to 405 for 2 sets of 10 to get a little volume in. As you can imagine. It was awful.

3 Board press

After the horrible day benching earlier this week, I decided to do something that would stroke my ego. 3 board was the winner

Bar x 10 (to the chest) 135 x 6 185 x 5 225 x 5 275 x 3 315 x 1 365 x 2 (started using 3 board) 405 x 1 455 x 1 495 x 1 545 x FAIL. I died. Ok I didn't die but i pretty much died. I had no power and felt like the bar was going to cut right through my body. No idea why this felt so heavy when 495 felt so light. Drop set: 405 x 6 x 2. Both sets stopped at six because I was getting bad lat cramps

Saturday Meet Day!!

I had the please of coaching two of my clients at their meet on the Saturday. Brenda was looking to qualify for provincials and Heather was looking for a reason to get up at 5 am on a Saturday. And it was her first meet too.

They did fantastic!

Brenda went 3 for 3 on her squats, 2 for 3 on the bench and 3 for 3 on the deadlift for a deadlift and total PR! She uped her Wilks score as well setting herself up nicely for Provincials in November.

Heather was great right off the bat. She hates mornings with a passion and hated more that she has to get up at 5 am for this meet. Once we got the grumpy cat face stuff out of the way. We got down to business. Squats went really well, going 2 for 3. The one miss was her randomly stopping on the way down and coming back up. Bench was also 2 for 3 with the miss being 100% my fault for calling the wrong number for her third. Sorry Heather. Deadlifts were a damn smoke show! She loves the deadlift and by this time it was about 12:30 and she wasn't grumpy anymore!!! She went 3 for 3 and smashed all of them! Her 3rd looked like an opener!

I'm very proud of all the hard work these two put into their training. Dealing with me as a coach is not easy. I can be a dickbag and not fun to deal with. They both did a great job.

Congrats Brenda and Heather!!!
