The week following USPA Drug Tested Nationals I was surprisingly not even the least bit sore. My body actually felt better AFTER the meet than before. I had some elbow pain before the meet that completely went away. The only negative effect was the mental fatigue I felt from sleeping on the airport floor and flying all day Sunday. Even though my body was feeling good, I figured I'd play it safe and wait a week before getting back into it. I planned a training session with some friends on Saturday, we all trained, then a bunch of us went out for food and sangria afterwards.

My training partners were all egging me on to try to test out my bench or deadlift because of how well things moved in competition. They really want to see me bench 250 in the near future and wanted to load it on the bar. As much as I would love to hit a new PR, I know that I have to play it smart and be patient. I also know that I would have a VERY angry coach on my hands and I don't like making Steve angry!

I decided to do a light bench training session, only going up to 155, then did some light beltless deadlifts

Bench

Barx10 95x10 135x8 155x10 155x20 (AMRAP)

Deadlift 135x5x2 185x5 225x5
