2016 has been a productive strongman season returning back to the sport. In June I took third place in the Open SHWW with United States Strongman. In September I won the HWW America's Strongest Master with Strongman Corporation. I would like to continue to make improvements and push my performance considerably for next year.

As of right now, I have no competition plans until next year. I am not sure what they will be but am using this down time to address some weaknesses, particularly 12" log and circus DB. Grip training will return as well.

Today I got approval to begin a strongman club here at the high school I teach at. Early in the year one of the guidance counselors told me a girl had popped in asking to do strongman rather than her fitness class. Now that's a girl Wattles can't help but love.

Anyway, that conversation got me thinking. I entertained a female strength training club or go with a strongman club for both male and female students. Females athletes strength train as part of their PE class but the non athlete females don't have that access.

In the end I am starting with a strongman club. If there are females interested in strength training, I will find them and can offer supervised access to the weight room. I'm excited and this is in the early stages.

My primary tasks right now are:

1. Marketing (video for daily announcements)/logo to get students interested and participating.

2. Scheduling/Structure

3. Options for fundraising/accessing additional equipment.  I have my own personal equipment, hauling it to work with me constantly isn't high on things I love to do and depending on numbers may not be realistic long term.
