Its been a few weeks since I have been under a squat bar. The rest has been much needed. During these last few weeks I have rehabbed, worked on mobility, done high volume sets, rested and relaxed. Just what the old man needed!

For today I thought it would be a good shock to the body to test the waters of my raw squat. My only plan was to hit 700 easily and be done and I did.

I still have a goal or two left in the tank and one of those is to squat 800 raw. Now that I am a masters lifter (but still compete in the open) hitting an 800 pound raw squat would be pretty cool I think. I have not trained my raw squat in almost two years but still walked up to the mono today and crushed 700 pounds raw. I thought us multiply ply guys were not strong raw? Lol yeah keep believing that....

I will continue my off season training for several more weeks and get an idea for what's next and when. I truly feel that if I train a good 9 to 12 months on my raw squat, 800 pounds should be a reality and I can take that off my lifting bucket list next....
