My results can be found here in the News but first,
Let me introduce to you the Members of my team "The North American Outlaw Kettlebell Club"

Bethany Lewis has only been lifting kettlebells for a little over 2 years and she was attempting her Master of Sport on Saturday, at a body weight of 135 lbs lifting a 44 lb kettlebell Bethany needed to get 100 reps, that's a steady pace of one rep every six seconds. Bethany did it, 101 reps and is the first Member of the North American Outlaw Kettlebell Club to obtain this high rank of Master of Sport, it was definitely a proud moment for me as a coach. Bethany's training was stellar, she had completed her goal several times in training and once with a 22 Kg  bell so she had the confidence stepping on the platform she could do it ! This is the end of a gruelling 10 Min set.

Shannon Lewis has only been lifting kettlebells for a little over 2 years and she was attempting her Candidate for Master of Sport on Saturday, at a body weight of 115 lbs lifting a 35 lb kettlebell Shannon needed to get 100 reps, that's a steady pace of one rep every six seconds. Shannon's training was also stellar, she had completed her goal several times in training and keep in mind Shannon's bell weight ratio is huge, she was lifting a bell that was 1/3 of her body weight. She knew stepping on the platform that she had confidence and knowing she could do it. Sometimes the nerves kick in, you can't get your breathing right, you are not feeling 100% or just plain run out of gas, Shannon got 89 reps in and achieved her Rank 1. This is an amazing accomplishment for Shannon, she is not finished with this yellow beast yet, she will attempt her CMS again in 7 weeks at the Niagara Falls Competition. I'm very proud of Shannon and how strong she is for such a light athlete.

Julie Tremblay has only begun Kettlebells about 6 months ago, the day I met her I knew she was a natural, she trains with me 3 times a week with Kettlebells and once a week for powerlifting. Julie's goal going into the meet was just to survive her first event, what's incredible is Julie's first kettlebell competition she lifted a 16 kg Kettlbell. She is my first athlete to attempt her first meet with that heavy of a kettlebell, that in itself is a huge accomplishment. Julie's technique is flawless, when I say a natural I mean it, she will obtain some high rankings in her future I guarantee it, she is only 25 years old. Julie finished her 10 minute set obtaining her rank 1 placing 3rd, with 112 reps, there was stiff competition in this group, I was one of them, she thought it was kinda cool competing against her coach ! Great job Julie !

Carri Chillingworth has only been sport training with me for about 8 weeks. I met Carri at a local gym where I taught fitness kettlebells and that lead her to start training with me at my home studio. A few months back while Carri was going through some personal issues she asked me "Do you think I could do it ?" I said YES you Can, but you have to train for it and train hard. I'm going to let her words explain her experience.
"Today I received this (insert pic of 1st place medal)  to you it may be a medal for doing more of something than someone else- too me it's much more than that. You see, today wasn't about other people, it was about me. It was about overcoming challenges and overcoming fear and anxiety. Today was extremely uncomfortable for me, but it was also one of the most amazing days of my life. I am filled with deep gratitude for the many people who helped me accomplish this gold medal today. Sheri Whetham for seeing something in me, and encouraging me to come back and work out- and for always placing the heavier bells in front of me. The Outlaw's ( Ken Whetham included!!) who welcomed me in with open arms, and who supported and cheered me on all day today! My sister for watching my kids so I could have this day to myself. To ALL my friends and family who sent me texts of encouragement and wished me well. To my dedicated Soul Sister, who spent the last 12 Monday's in my home watching my children so I could train, and who has ALWAYS believed in me! I will never forget today. I am truly blessed and feeling very proud of myself."

If that does not give a coach goose bumps then nothing will. Carri exceeded her training on the platform by about a 30 or more reps a huge P.R. She remained focussed, strong, determined and never faultered, not once. She lifted a 12 Kg bell performing the snatch and obtained 187 reps in 10 mins, taking 1st place, another category with stiff competition. This is the final minute of her 10  min set.

Honourable mention to Kelly Russell-Amey, Victoria Denny-Lailey, Janet McDaniel and Shawnna Browne, who have  competed with my team before but due to previous commitments or injuries were not able to compete this time but I am confident they will come back stronger for the next one ! My team is growing in big numbers and I am so happy to help grow the sport, I look forward to more events in the near future.
Also a huge thank you to my Husband Ken Whetham who helped me coach the team and with help tweaking technique and giving the girls the tools and tips needed to succeed.

An amazing day with an amazing support group, we as "Outlaws" don't train to win or to beat the person beside us, we train to be better than we were yesterday, to set personal goals and to do something completely out of our comfort zone, something a lot of people have never even heard of. After all, if you ask someone what Kettlebell sport is I bet 75 % of the population have never heard of it.  For a full view of my 10 min set you can find it on my Facebook page.
To end, I want to say that I get more enjoyment, personal satisfaction and Inspiration out of coaching these strong ladies. To compete is one thing but to help create incredible athletes and help them achieve their goals and watch them succeed beyond measure is "Priceless"
I will continue to coach these ladies and more, 3 times a week to get them ready for their next Kettlebell Competition which is in Niagara Falls on June 27th, 2015.  I can't compete at this event because  I will be competing at the Canadian National Powerlifting meet that same day. Bethany will coach in my absence that day.
As for my goals today I'm switching my training focus to strictly Powerlifting now I'm  7 weeks out for the RPS Meet June 13th where I am attempting my 1,000 Lb Raw total then two weeks later the Canadian Nationals to qualify for the Worlds in November in Portugal.
