On Saturday Clint tagged me in a post of Jesse Marunde Pinch Flipping 25 KG Plates that I was familiar with from long ago.  I couldn't help but think, "What if? What if I can actually do that?"

A few months ago, I had done a single 45 lb plate flip with ease.  At that time I also promised myself it was the last festering grip challenge I would be sidetracked by.  Until Clint's post.

So, I set out to see what I had in me and to prove to myself I was capable. A single plate flip is much easier because you can drive off your legs better and not have to coordinate two flying objects at the same time.

The biggest challenge is having the lat strength to flip both plates simultaneously. Grip strength is the secondary concern. The flip needs some cleaning up. However, after too many reps to count and one plate nailing the top of my foot, I can proudly say I did it!

The moral of the story is the next time you're presented with a challenge or obstacle, stop and ask yourself, "What if?" What if you COULD do it? What if your own mind and expectations are stopping you from even trying? Step up, put the ego aside and test your boundaries and capabilities. You might just surprise yourself!
