Hi Guys, it's been a couple of weeks now since I had total hip replacement surgery. Two weeks and two days to be exact.

I used the walker for the first 3 days. Then switched to the cane.

After the first week I was able to go short distances without the cane. Now I can get up and go anywhere in the house comfortably without the cane.  But of course I have a limp. I'm not by any means done with the cane yet.

I am very patient with this process. I am also doing PT a couple of times a day.

Thanks to Dave Tate for sending me his protocol from his doctor. Since I had my surgery done at the VA the PT is pretty standard they gave me to do. As far as meds I'm on pain killers for the pain. The pain has already decreased a lot from week 1. I was taking 2 Percocets (5/325) every 4 hours for the first week. The pain was pretty bad.  It gets better & better every day.

I think I'm at a point now to where I take it as needed or depending on how active I am. Well that's it for now. I hope to be up and running on a regular basis as far as my log is concerned.

I'm glad to be back.
