You never know how much your history and roots mean to you till you've moved to another country and have children. Thanksgiving, Halloween, Fourth of July, even Christmas are all holidays that are either not celebrated here or they are completely different. Christmas isn't a big deal here and most people don't exchange gifts till after new years, of course we have several of our own Independence Days but not 4th of July. No Thanksgiving or Halloween...and it is very easy to just forget about it and not worry with calling neighbors, friends, and family and asking them to go to the store and buy candy and explaining why we are coming to visit and what they are supposed to do but MY WIFE does it every year...

On top of it all, my wife as out of the country the 8 days before, flew home for Halloween, and left the next morning. But she made it here so that the boys will have a memory (and we will too).

So off we got to the first house...boys holding hands like brothers!

The 2nd house wasn't going as well planned as the first. Luke decide that he would "go inside" and that is about all that he did before he laid in the floor. Not sure if this was to be scary or if he was just taking a break!

Third house is always a great one!

Fourth house in 3.5 hours just had Steven exhausted. He found a blanket and a decent spot to lay and Luke grabbed an adult brew and carried on strong!

And if you are still reading and wondering WHY it takes 3.5 hours to go to 4 houses, it is because it is extremely rude to just knock on someone's door and not come in and stay a while, sit, drink, eat, and talk. I mean...it sounds like we need Halloween more often!
