Here's the Schwab dog pack the day after the incident acting like nothing ever happened.

I hesitated to talk about this since I’m afraid we’ll be judged for being bad dog parents, but I really don’t think we are.

Let me preface this by stating that 99.9% of the time our dogs relax, play, and get along great, but since we’ve had issues in the past we’ve taken measures to try to prevent any further incidents.

When we leave the house we put Tank in our room, Pema in her crate, and Icarus and Atticus are out (since they try to break out of the crates), but we remove any potential toys that they could fight over. In the mornings when we’re not able to keep an eye on all of them we’ve been putting Tank in our guest room (which is normally closed) to play with dog puzzles with treats in them while we get ready in the morning.

Last Thursday Trinity went home early from work to start printing the lifter cards for Friday weigh ins for our Orlando Barbell APF Florida State meet on Saturday. The printer is in the guest room so Trinity had the door open, not realizing what was to come. We really don’t use that room otherwise. She saw Atticus go in the room, followed by Tank and realized that she should follow to prevent any incidents. Unfortunately it was too late. Tank had cornered Atticus and began to move in so Trinity put her hand between them to try to break them up. Unfortunately one of the worst instincts that dogs have is to prey on the weak, and Icarus and Pema ended up moving in to try to attack Atticus as well. Trinity did her best to shield Atticus and remove him from the room and I’m glad she did what she could. She immediately called me in hysterics so I rushed home (thank you to Tyler Weave for covering OBB for me and Tyler Marino for meeting me at the vet) and assessed the situation on the way. She was able to break them up, but Atticus had to go to the Vet ER and Trinity had to go to the ER to get stitches in her hand. Now she basically has ptsd and is afraid to be home alone, which is why I haven’t been able to train much this week. Our dogs are our family so it's sad when they normally seem to love each other then try to hurt each other, but unfortunately they're still animals and react off of instinct.

Thankfully they’re all fine and back to normal now (except for Trinity). I know a lot of people would just get rid of Tank, but I realize this is as much our fault as it is theirs, so we need to find a behaviorist now to try to re-train both he and us. He's obviously too territorial and thought the room was his. I think this may has changed our mind to ever run a pet rescue, which we eventually wanted to do.

For now Trinity hasn’t been comfortable being at home alone wit the dogs so this, along with my ongoing frustrating health issues, has kept me from being able to train much lately. I’ll post more on that soon.
