My job is working with people JUST LIKE YOU who all want to make progress in the gym but I have the unique task of figuring out what is going wrong FROM A DISTANCE! There are always common factors between groups of clients and there will always be repeated traits that I see on a very regular basis. A major one is that it takes someone HOURS to complete their training program in the gym, be it one that I've written for them, one they have picked from a magazine, or one that they have developed themselves (or Heaven's To Goodness they just decided to wing it when they got to the gym...)
If you are one of my clients and you think that this next part pertains to you, you are probably right and wrong at the same time. For starters...the following will happen to me multiple times per week.
Email or Message Taking Place
Client: Hey coach, I think I'm having a bad deadlift session today. Things just feel off and I can't sit back on my heels today and I THE FIRE just isn't happening today. What should I do?
Me: Don't worry about it, we all have bad days and Deadlift day is the most mental of them all. Eat, hydrate, rest and we will figure it out before your next week of programming.
Client: I'm about to set up for my first set of deadlifts, any advice?
Me: (with my head spinning around in circles at this point) Put your doggone phone down, don't pick it up again, AND GET YOURSELF RIGHT! Stop sending me messages while you are training AND TRAIN!
Usually at that point they either decide that I'm not the right person for them, they only hired me because they wanted to be able to say "I worked with Clint Darden", or they really just wanted a direct line to me in the first place and they weren't concerned with making REAL PROGRESS!
So let me break it down for you as clearly as I know how to, on video, how you can easily cut your gym time in half and increase your results many fold in the process!
