This is Otis, one of the many animals at Journey’s End.  Journey's End Animal Sanctuary provides lifetime care and shelter for dogs, cats, horses, pigs, sheep, and birds that have been abused, neglected or have special needs.

As a small business owner I have the ability to give back to the community in a way that many may not be able to.  One of the ways I try to do this is by hosting fundraisers as often as possible.  This is one of the ways I live, learn, and pass on.  On December 16th we’ll be hosting Deadlifting for Doggies which will be a non-sanctioned, no holds barred (straps and suits allowed) 1 rep max deadlift contest (lifters will get 3 attempts like a regular meet) and the proceeds will go to Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary.  Here are the details:

Rather than just having a Christmas/Holiday party I thought it would be fun to have a no holds barred non-sanctioned 1 rep max deadlift contest fundraiser on December 16th. I decided to have the proceeds go to Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary.

. The minimum donation is only $25 to compete, but you can donate any amount without having to compete.  Any donation is greatly appreciated. You can register or donate here: Deadlifting for Doggies Fundraiser.

Trinity and I have volunteered at Journey's End and they are also the only rescue that would accept some of the dogs we have found in the past. Rather than emphasizing adoption, Journey's End provides a homelike setting where animals can enjoy the remainder of their lives in a comfortable, loving atmosphere.

If you’re able to make it to OBB for the event we also plan to have a Bar-B-Q or just get pizza and some beer as well.

Thank you to my friend Jason Farmand for designing the logo and putting the webpage together!

We hope to see you there!

We will also be getting shirts printed that will be on sale for $20 with the proceeds going to Journey’s End.
