We had a good third week.  The guys aren't too beat up.  I think my plan to keep the bar off their back more is paying off.  They all had pretty good Rep Max days this past week (Squat, Bench, Trap Bar at 80%).  I won't reset any maxes based on these numbers.  We'll just keep rolling.

Running has increased and they seem to be handling it well.  No pulls, strains, sprains or any of that.

This week we'll step back on the main lifts (65%).  Nothing else will change.  My coaching point for them this week will be bar speed.  The weight is light, so they need to perform these reps fast and explosively.

I'll probably play around with the assistance work.  It won't change, but I might have them do a challenge or I'll organize it differently.

Physically, I think they're doing well.  Mentally, they just don't have it.  We don't have any real leaders.  We have a few kids who have potential, but they're afraid to step on someone's toes.  We also have some guys who aren't committed.  This is true at all levels, so it's not just here.  But, our level of not committed is much higher than an FBS or top tier FCS school.  It boggles my mind that these kids (not just football, either) think that talking about "the league" is going to get them there.  They have no clue what kind of work and sacrifice it takes.  These guys are upset that we have to workout at 6am on Fridays.  They just simply don't get it.  Life is going to kick some of these guys square in the nuts.
