So there I was...it was Sunday and I was at the gym. My back was cramping up before I ever touched anything in the gym and the rain had started coming down. My joints hurt and I had this Rocky moment and figured What The Heck and went out to do some sled dragging. My training partner wasn't there yet so why not...a little rain didn't hurt anyone.

Then it came time to Viking Press and my training partner showed up. Neither of us said anything but it was about the coolest thing we had done in a while. Viking Press in the pouring down rain. The thoughts that flew through our minds of all the pretty boy gym goers inside their heated gyms with...with roofs! At one point I yelled over at him "Do you need any chalk?" to which he promptly replied "Nope. I don't think it would do anything in this hurricane!".

I mean...we were tough! Roughing it and putting in the work that nobody else was willing to put in because it was cold, windy, flooding, and pouring down rain!

Then one of my neighbors casually walked by...on her way walking back home from Church. She is near-ish 80 years old and I'm not sure exactly where she lives but it isn't within visual distance of where we were training. Had to get to Church. She had to get to Church when everyone else was sitting at home in their...houses, sheltered from the rain. She was putting in the work that nobody else was, because it was Sunday and it was only rain...

And as she walked by and we were out in the rain making tough guy sounds she just casually says, in Greek of course, "Hey guys, how are you today?" and never broke stride...

All of the sudden I didn't feel so tough anymore. 🙂
