Meana is planning to compete at the RPS Showdown at nearby CTX on July 27th.

Here’s what Meana’s last 4 weeks look like leading into the meet based off of my M2 Method:

Squats:
Week:
4- Opener without assistance/2nd and 3rd with reverse mini bands
3- Opener with reverse mini bands /2nd and 3rd with reverse light bands
2- Opener, 2nd and 3rd with reverse light bands
1- Deload the week prior to the meet w/around 70%
0- Meet week off

Bench:
4- Opener without assistance/2nd and 3rd off 1 board
3- Opener off 1 board /2nd and 3rd off 2 board
2- Opener, 2nd and 3rd off 2 board
1- Deload the week prior to the meet w/around 70%
0- Meet week off

Deadlift:
4- Opener without assistance/2nd and 3rd with reverse mini bands
3- Opener with reverse mini bands /2nd and 3rd with reverse light bands
2- Opener, 2nd and 3rd with reverse light bands
1- Deload the week prior to the meet w/around 70%
0- Meet week off

There are multiple reasons why I have the lifters I coach perform their openers at 4 weeks out:
- It gives them the opportunity to test the weight to determine if it’s ideal to open with and potentially increase/decrease if necessary.
- Allows for them to feel their second and third attempts without overtaxing their CNS.
- Allows for them to take a full two weeks to recover.

Here’s some of her latest training:

395 Squat Opener
430 2nd Attempt w/reverse mini bands
