Back home and in the groove of sleep, training, and nutrition. I am also back in my routine which really helps me to accomplish a lot more. I am up at 430 every morning and in bed bet 8-9 every night so having that consistency has really helped me feel more recovered in just 4 days. I track this through my oura ring which tracks, sleep, body temp, HRV, resting heart rate, and a lot more. This is a great tool to have and there are a ton of new technology wears available now that can help us determine a lot, but one of the downfalls they have is that we become way too reliant on them and it takes away from our ability to subjectively think about how we feel that day, how we feel before, during, and after training, how we feel after we ate a meal, etc.. Our body tells us so much about what is going on and how we are recovering from the stimulus and stress we force upon it, but we've lost our abilities to autoregulate. I give a client an RPE in training and they have no clue how to listen to their body and pick attempts appropriately based on how they feel that day and also what that can tell them about how they are recovering and what the preceding days leading up to that session has done to them.
Recently I had on my podcast Jay Nera and Paul Oneid to talk about their new app MetriLife and we discuss all of the ins and outs of the app and why it is the best app for you to take your health and fitness to the next level. We also talk about how their training is going now and what they are up to. This app is all about subjective feedback and to truly get connected with how your body is feeling based on everything that you have done from mental health, to sleep, diet, and energy levels. It is def worth checking out and you can hear the entire podcast here https://www.teamphoenixperformance.com/beyond-the-platform-episode-72-jay-nera-paul-oneid/?fbclid=IwAR1JvsCf3RrwYjQNeSLUWL85YluyBrBRjj5BOSGHSVBjW-y7lb-z3FDRVtE
