After over 10 years of taking a hiatus, Ken Kinaken brought back the SWIS. It was an amazing weekend with some great speakers. Ken worked long and hard to make this happen and it turned out to be a huge success!  Team EliteFTS was well represented with Dave, JL, Meadows and myself speaking, and Shane doing a big squat demo.  Proud to be a part of the team and the symposium with so many great people.

Friday night I was able to have dinner with my girl and teammate Christine. Shared some stories, talked training and life, and smiled and laughed.  Very thankful for her friendship and love.  <3

Very nice venue with 4 rooms of presentations going on at once. I was able to meet up with some internet peeps for the first time. Also had a chance to finally, after many years, meet some pretty prominent people in the strength industry. It's always amazing how paths cross (or don't cross) until certain times. It's a pretty small world when you start to share histories and stories and who you're connected with.

After 2 full days of lectures, all the presenters went out to dinner. Had a blast telling stories, talking shop and laughing hard with these people.

My lecture Saturday was about "Building the New Woman."  In today's industry, we are seeing a trend towards more women lifting heavy weights.  Still small in comparison to the number of women still participating in aerobics classes and whatnot, but the number of strength and performance women has increased quite a bit.

This new woman wants to be strong AND look good.  I talked about how to do both of those things... building strength with big lifts, prioritizing accessories and adding in volume and bodybuilding work, piecing it altogether.

I love presenting and always come away with how I can make the next one better. Lots of ideas on how to improve this talk.  Huge thanks to those that listened, asked questions and stayed after to chat.  I even ran into a former athlete of mine!  Yep, small world.
