What does a Holiday week, a ton of work to be done by the 1st and having your old training partner/friend in town for the week get you?  A cruise week, that's what.  It was long overdue, anyway.

I trained with Jimmy Kennedy for the last 5 years of his NFL career.  He would come to Denver and live here during the off season and we would make sure he was in great shape when camp started.  I enjoyed training with him where for the last 30 years I enjoyed training with very few people - preferring to train by myself.

NFL players typically train for power and strength and so I told him I wanted to do exactly the opposite of that in that having him train higher reps (still for compound movements) with bodybuilding type movements.  My philosophy was that he trained for power and strength while in season so we were going to train more for conditioning - especially considering he was training with me in Denver at a higher altitude and even doing cardio in my neighborhood which was roughly 7600 ft in elevation.

It would have been cool to get a couple training sessions in this week but ... even cooler to just sit around and chill with him, his girlfriend and his son after not seeing him for almost 4 years.

It also gives me a chance to structure my off season as it progresses into a possible prep for 2017 and that off season basically starts next week.  I was going to wait until after all of the Holidays but I am more motivated than usual to get on it this year and Mrs. Skip is also very motivated so we are starting next week.

I plan to get bloodwork done by the end of the year and if everything looks good and my brain is where it is now, I will likely start prep right around the first week of February but I have not chosen a show, yet.  The challenge this time will be to get into incredible condition while only using TRTdosing throughout the entire prep.  I anticipate this to be one of the hardest preps I have ever done because of the limited help of aas and other compounds.  For that reason, I am excited to see what I can do.

The rest of the week is going to be for spending time with friends, family and, of course, food.  I will get a lot of work done and be able to come into next week fresh and ready to kill workouts again.  I figure I likely won't let up much, if at all, until mid-summer.

I hope all of you enjoy your Thanksgiving!
