Monday

I went off the reservation with my normal eating.  I had way more carbs than I'm used to for breakfast.  If I had trained within two hours or so of eating I think I would've felt great.  However, we got to talking in the office and figuring out what we were going to do before we worked out and it was four hours later.  I just had no energy.  I got the workout in, but it was lackluster.  I'll get back to eating my "normal" breakfast an see if there's a difference on Wednesday.

Here's what went down on Monday:

  • FBB Press: 85x5/95x3/105x5 (This might be a PR? - I haven't looked, yet)/115x2
  • Pull-ups: 5x5
  • Bench FSL: 5x5@145
  • Hammer Row: 5x10
  • DB Squat: 2x10/DB RDL: 3x10

I bookended the lift with 1/2 mile walks.

One of my assistants is getting ready (hopefully it happens) for a meet in July.  I went over to my buddy's place (private gym) and watched/helped them with their workout.

I hadn't seen my buddy in a few weeks and he mentioned I looked like I was getting bigger.  This was good to hear, not only for my fragile ego, but to realize that what I've been doing is getting me the results I'm looking for.

I haven't stepped on the scale in a few weeks so I really don't know what I weigh.  Nonetheless, the appearance of getting bigger is more important at this stage of my training life than actually gaining weight.  I'll take the egotistical victory.

Also: it seems that Dave has given Jim, Vincent and myself the keys to the Elitefts Table Talk this Thursday April 2nd at 3:30pm EST.  Apparently we'll be doing this via Skype or something similar.  I guess our beautiful mugs will magically appear on the screen of the Elitefts YouTube page.

Anyway, tune in at 3:30pm EST.
