Orlando Barbell's Shelley Ortiz performing Ab Wheel Glute Ham Raises on the Orlando Barbell Home GHR. This is a great combo movement or option for people who may have difficulty performing glute ham raises, abs using the ab wheel, or both. This is obviously a movement that you can't perform on a regular GHR. If you've done any research on how to properly perform a glute ham raise you know that you should only go to a point where your body is parallel with the floor to optimally strengthen your hamstrings and glutes. Going beyond this point increases momentum making the movement easier and taking the stress off of the targeted muscles. Because of this the Home GHR works as well, if not better, than a full sized GHR. It can also be performed with the assistance of push ups or added resistance such as bands, chains, med balls, plates, etc.
The glute ham raise is one of the best movements to increase the explosive strength involved in squatting, deadlifting, sprinting, and jumping by incorporating both knee flexion and hip extension as they're used in those movements. I designed the Home GHR to give back to the sport and to benefit athletes with a product that is optimal, but costs a fraction of the designs with frames.
