How often do you hear people say "I need to stop doing this" stop eating this way, stop training this way, stop reacting so poorly to certain situations, stop drinking, stop using drugs, stop treating my body like shit.
I've heard it, and SAID it thousands of times. Which is okay. It's GOOD. You're identifying an issue. What you need to do next is the hard part. That's actually changing your behavior.
Establishing discipline and breaking a habit is one of the hardest things a person can do. But people do it. I've seen it happen, and i've been at the control of it a few times. The problem with this is that it puts people in control of their lives and the direction they are heading. Some people thrive there, other people crumble.
I've had the tears, the strains, the weeks off. I've had moments i haven't changed my behavior. But we all do. It's constant battling between ourselves. Most people are just too timid to admit it.
If you find yourself continually saying you need to change a behavior, or continually cause damage to yourself or others because of something you do, chances are you need to change it. If you're not powerful enough to do so, reach out to others and talk about it and attempt to gain that power, and if you can't manage to do that: just keep talking about how you need to stop hurting yourself in training, or hurting other people, or hurting your environment. Maybe if you wish hard enough it'll change.
But probably not.
Be better or be quiet.
