I'm currently training for the 2019 USPA Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. After dropping a couple weight classes, this meet will be second showing at 198 and real return to raw powerlifting after a couple years wearing gear.
Training
Bench - Singles to 405. Really good here, need to work on bringing the bar down a little faster.
Bench -4 x 5 at 365
Spoto Press - 3 x 6 at 315
DB Incline - 2 x 15 at 80s
Chest Supported DB Row 3 x 10 at 80s
Swiss bar Tricep Ext - 4 x 11 at 115. I set up Spud straps to do these into. Surprisingly they don't irritate my elbows.
Strict Tricep Ext - 2 x 25 at 25s
Chest Supported IYT - 3 x 12 at 10s
I've finally learned my lesson on chiropractic care...
I'm really fortunate to have found an awesome chiro in Grands Rapids. I've been seeing Vince at Chiropractic Unlimited for a few years now but for a long time would only go when I really needed it. Finally realizing that I should just be going once a month, especially when getting close to a meet. So since December I've been in once a month and the proactive work seems to be helping a ton. Vince does a lot of soft tissue in additional to traditional chiropractic, the man is a life saver.
Being proactive is letting me push a lot harder this training cycle! I was having a little trouble on my left side proximal bicep, which I think was part of why I brought the bar down so slow last night. Vince worked me over this morning and got a lot of that angry tissue to release. I can't recommend this guy enough, he's put me back together more than a few times.
