I've never been good at the bench press and never liked it. I'm not sure if I don't like it because I'm not good at it or if I'm not good at it because I don't like it. Probably a little of both. After my tricep injury, my bench went from suck to shit and I'm trying to get it back up to suck. The current plan for this is 3-week waves of dumbbell work, some type of barbell work, and shirt work with one of the 2 weeks of none shirt work being a floor press. I think this addresses my weak points nicely and expect some solid gains.
bench - used angle bar
worked up to 315 for 4 sets of 3 reps
suspended tsunami bar pressing
this was some unique set up in the power rack that Todd and Dave came up with that involved the tsunami bar hanging from safety straps with bands holding it to the rack. The movement was done standing and pressing the bar similar to the bench movement. Several of the guys felt the load in their backs but it didn't do much for me.
h-raises
3 sets of 12 with 25s
Arnold press
used 35s for 4 sets of 8 reps
