If you know my training you can see I have made some big changes to it. For the last, oh, 5-6 years I have always done ME triples against chains or bands raw the first month of my training. I do this because I am a creature of habit. When I talked to Shane at the Sweatt Shop he gave me some good advice. He said, doing something the same for long periods of time doesn't necessarily keep on the path of increase, it just means that you get more efficient at doing that particular task. This made a lot of sense to me. I was doing rack pulls, which has always been my deadlift main accessory lift, and he said that I have just become a more efficient rack puller. My rack pulls are in fact very good and I am good at them. But has my deadlift continued to benefit from like they did for the first few years I did them. I could not say that the have continued to get better. What he said made a lot of sense. One thing that stuck with me is that he said I need to fortify myself. I need to be strong no matter what I do, not just the movements I do consistently. I have taken that to heart and I am trying to become strong on any path, not just the one I travel. So I took the bands and chains out and I am sticking with straight weight. I am still doing triples because I wanted to change one thing at a time to see if it makes a difference. Hence calling my Berserker Program Berserker Fortity.
