Block 9, Wave 2 - Events @ Iron Strong CF

I was home for the weekend and what was originally forecast to be 3-5" of snow turned into 10-15", depending on where you were on the Eastern Shore.  We were on the low end in Salisbury with 10", but that was still enough to bring everything to a screeching halt.  Fortunately, I was able to make it out to Iron Strong to train events thanks to the work of the snow removal guys and gals.  The main roads were mostly clear and I actually followed a line of plows down route 50 as I was driving in.  There were a few other like-minded idiots there training as well.  I still felt like dookie, but managed to have what felt like a slightly better training day than everything else I had done this week so far.  Other highlights of the day were Mike Hedlesky deadlifting for the first time since his shoulder surgery and Gregg Inocencio tugging 800 lbs in his Metal Jack Pro DL suit.

Log Jerks Off Boxes

3x230

2x260

1x180

1x300

1x310

My reps were inconsistent today.  Most of that is probably due to doing it off the boxes - since I never do that, getting the log into the correct rack position is awkward, but it got better as I went and my last rep was the best one of the day.  Sadly, my phone was being a POS so the video is of the prior set at 300, which was pretty crappy.

100' x 380+

50' x 470+

50' x 560+

2x50' x 610+

My second run with 610 was worse than the first so I stopped there.  I can't remember what the rig itself weighs, so all weights are 25-35 lb heavier than listed.

Log Man Makers

10x -->1x of log clean and viper press, lower to ground, do a burpee with a pushup, all while keeping hands on the log.  I did this with 140 and it was about 16 minutes of heavy breathing and self loathing.
