Everyone is doing some sort of rehab and recovery work, or at least they should be. In any sport your body takes a beating and you need to take the proper measures to heal up and get healthy. Ice baths, heating pads, foam rollers, stretching, mobility work, Grastin, messages, body tempering, hydration, protein intake, appropriate sleep, anti-inflammatories and the list goes on. Some of these things cost money. Some of these things don't and some of these things should be common sense to do.
Here is another rehab/recovery option you should be adding to your tool belt of recovery tools to use. We call it at Nebobarbell - Body Buffering. Clint Dardin introduced this to me some time back and I thought it was the stupidest thing I have ever seen or heard of until I tried it. Boy was I the stupid one. $20 bucks well spent for the best thing I have ever done for my body. After several months trying different things and working on different parts of the body we have had some great success with these "buffers" and how to effectively use them.
Improving blood circulation by getting deep into the muscles this "buffering" can help heal injuries faster and you can do it more frequent because you have this at home or at the gym with you. No longer do you have to spend $25 and up for each visit to see a professional message therapist. You spend $20 once and your good. A lot of the things we do can be done by yourself but some body parts you will need someone else to help out.
We have had great success getting out scar tissue from hamstrings, quads, calves and more. This means faster recovery. Cheap investment. Immediate results. I have used this buffer numerous times on my daughter from soreness and strains and had huge success. I have taken this to travel basketball tournaments to buff out soreness and Charlie horses from the girls legs. Every member at Nebobarbell can attest to how great this works.
I am no physician, wanna be recovery guru trying to make a buck or some know it all that read some fancy shit about the body to make me sound smart. I am a meat head like most of you, always looking for a fountain of youth so to speak and a way to keep me on the platform. I am showing you what all of us at our gym do and how we do it. Hopefully this can help you. If not then you will get a good laugh from the videos. Try it. I promise you will love it....
