Events @ the Unit & ISCF

I started out at the Unit this morning before heading to Iron Strong for more training.  I had four options in my program for what to train today, but only planned to hit three of them.  The one I ended up omitting today was farmer's walk.  My calves were horribly tight and massively sore after doing just that one fairly light drop set of calf raises on Thursday, which I figured would potentially be more of a hindrance for me on farmer's walk than anything else.  The rest of the training which I actually did wasn't stellar, but it was good enough for a solid performance overall.  I definitely need to hit farmer's next weekend though.

Axle Clean & Press (continental clean each rep)

complex x 70

complex x 120

2x3x160 - First set made me huff and puff like I had just done conditioning and my timing was all off so I repeated the same weight before going up.  Much better for the second set.

3x210

3x230 - This set looked and felt awesome.  Too bad it was my best one of the day.

3x250 - Less awesome, but still good.

3x270 - Wow.  This was 18 kinds of ugly and I forgot how to do both continental cleans and split jerks at various times during the set.  The only good news is that despite what it may look like on video, I wasn't resting the bar on my belt - that was pure fat roll and I've got the bruising to show for it.

**At this point I headed to Iron Strong CF for the rest of training**

Tire Flip/Sled Drag Medley

70' x prowler + 290 - Backward drag

5 flips x ~450 - Not sure on tire weight, but it's light.

2x{5 flips x ~450/70' x prowler + 290} - Second run was definitely faster, but I was also dragging the prowler very slightly downhill instead of very slightly uphill.

I need to find a little bit bigger tire.  The one at ISCF is good and fine for most people, but it needs to be just a little bit higher/wider when laying down on its side in order to feasibly make it weight adjustable.  If I can find a bigger tire, I'll document how to do this.

Atlas Stone Shouldering (alternating shoulders)

4x215

4x250 - This felt great and is the easiest I've ever shouldered this particular stone.

2x250 - The 3rd rep slipped so this set ended early.

For a glimpse at more of what I actually write in my training notebook versus what I write here in my log (due to the current climate of social justice warriors and sensitive babies who get butt hurt by anyone who posts things that they don't want to see rather than just ignoring it and moving on like a well adjusted adult), check out the last pic after the training videos, which I think sums up my performance on stone shouldering nicely.  Also, for any SJWs who may be reading this (doubtful), I meant no disrespect or negative insinuation toward infant humans or buttocks pain and I'm sure you have some special derogatory terminology for well adjusted people who are able to read something they disagree with or find offensive without raising all hell on social media that can be used to describe me and I embrace it and you.

KB Complex

Single Arm Snatch x 10ea

Single Arm F. Squat x 10ea

Grave Diggers x 10 (pushup, R row, L row=1)

Alternate Arm Swings x 10ea

I did this instead of pushing the prowler today out of respect for the equipment and plates at Iron Strong since it was raining.  I did it twice, first with 35 lb KBs (3'24") and the second complex with 50 lb KBs (3'45").
