C&J/Assistance @ BSG

After snatching for  the first time since May last week I decided to try out clean and jerks for the first time in even longer today.  I was smart about planning my warmups and wrote everything down before I got started, but then Murphy stepped in and made me a dumb dumb.  I repeated my planned singles at 120 and 130 kg because I pressed out the jerk on the first set of each.  Then I was supposed to go up 5 kg/11 lbs to 135 kg, but instead I jumped up 10 kilos because I was thinking in pounds when I loaded the bar.  This jump combined with me not having done any cleans in many moons ended up with me stopping my pull about halfway up and then trying to pull myself under the bar before hitting full extension, which resulted in my jacking up both my wrists, R more than L.  Thankfully I was wearing my elitefts super heavy wrist wraps (shameless plug) which definitely helped minimize the damage from my erroneous math.

Clean & Jerk

lots of different movements and warmups with 20 kg

3x50 kg

2x70 kg

2x 90 kg

1x100 kg

2x1x120 kg - Pressed out the jerk on the first set.

2x1x130 kg - Same as above.

0x140 kg - King Dumb Dumb.

I briefly considered dropping back down to 100 kg to work technique after that ugliness, but my wrists said no, which was almost certainly the smart move in retrospect.

The good news is that my second set with 130 kg was rocket powered (i.e. fueled by farts) and I ripped rapid fire ass standing up from catching the clean and then drilled the jerk like a stinky champion.  And better yet, this was the set that Brute posted on their IG account!
