Where do I even begin? I must say first how fucking proud I am of my beautiful/strong wife!

Melissa put everything she had into this training cycle and it showed. With just under 5 months of multiply training under her belt and just coming off her last raw meet with also again her raw elite open total in the 132 weight class and an IPA World Championship to boot, I thought it would be tough to beat that...well she destroyed that accomplishment in her next meet being her first full power multiply meet.

I have never known a more driven and mentally strong individual as Melissa. She inspires me everyday to work harder and train harder. Not just in the gym but in life as well. She is a pure leader through and through. She may not lead verbally in the gym but she leads with her actions and hard work. She inspires us all at Team Nebobarbell.

In 4 short years from starting out at only 105 pounds, competing in 4 different weight classes, achieving 5 elite totals (2 open - 1 raw/ 1 multiply, 3 masters), competing in 14 meets in 4 years already, being a mother of 4 children, a full time nurse and taking care of my old ass everyday, she has every reason for excuses not to train/take care of herself or not have time. This is not or never will be the case with Melissa.

I love you Melissa Smith. You are my hero. Huge congratulations Lil Momma! Take a breath and get ready. The next accomplishment in this sport is awaiting you baby!

Here is what she accomplished last week at The IPA Tennessee State Championships in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on March 16, 2019 - Hosted and put on by Bobby Betts and Pressfitness Ipa.
