In this episode I interview Jesse Cook, Research Specialist in the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jesse studies various dimensions of sleep, and their relationship to various mood disorders. The topic of sleep is both broad and complex, and Jesse did a great job providing enough information to help us scratch a little below the surface on what sleep quality involves. In this episode we discussed:

  • The relationship between sleep and mental health.
  • Various dimensions of sleep quality, outside of just “hours in bed”.
  • Current wearable sleep technology – benefits and limitations.
  • Practical tips on improving sleep for athletes.
