Block 11, Wave 2 - Events

Planned sucking may not have been my best or brightest idea, but I'll have to wait a few more weeks to see.  I wanted to hit some volume today on weight over bar, but I wanted to do it in a fatigued state.  That part I definitely accomplished.  As for how helpful it will turn out to be, I have a mini test for that next week and a bigger one at the end of the month when I compete.

Circus DB C&P

3ea x 115

2ea x 135

2ea x 155

1ea x 175

1ea x 190 - Missed it on the left for what would have been a lefty PR.

Pretty happy with this today since I've only hit CDB once in the last several months and only did some moderate weight triples then.  Ryan tied his old PR easily, making it look like a warmup weight, and then went on to hit a 5 lb PR after that.  I tried to go again on 190 to get it with the left and missed abysmally.

Farmer's Walk

100' x 110

100' x 200

100' x 270

100' x 300

The runs were straight shots today without a turn.  I was slow(er) time-wise, but grip was rock solid.

Weight Over Bar (minus the bar)

12x1ea x 28

I took 60 sec rest between the first 10 sets and then did the last 3 back to back.  I was definitely fatigued going into this and could tell by how higher (or rather how low) I was throwing the weight.  My throws went from bad to worse when I took away the rest breaks at the end, which was also expected.  I'll be doing WOB first next week and training down at Brute Strength Gym so I can work all the events for my upcoming Highlander comp on 30 April.

Prowler

8x120' x prowler + 140 - The extra 20' made these really extra fun today.
