With the board press and floor pressing I've been doing I decided it was time to work the lower end of my bench press today. My choice movement for this today is deficit bench. For these, I use a barbell with about a 1.5" camber in it. I don't feel it is necessary to use a large deficit for these to get a good amount from them and using a larger amount of deficit also increases the risk of strains on the pecs and shoulders.

 

deficit barbell bench - barbell with 1.5" camber

225 for 5 sets of 10 reps

reps are controlled and not done explosively

 

lat pulldowns - used Prime attachment

150 for 1 set of 20 reps

200 for 5 sets of 15 reps

 

batteling ropes

2 sets of 10 reps of the following

spin-outs, spin ins, floor slams, and reverse flys

 

H-Raises

25's for 3 sets of 12 reps
