Block 11, Wave 1 - Events @ Iron Strong CF

Trained a little of this and a little of that today.  My primary focus was to do what I can to get ready for Brute's Highlander at the Virginia International Tattoo coming up on 30 April.  After that I was trying to hit some strongman events I have been neglecting.  I checked off all boxes and finished up with some quad-rending conditioning.

Weight Over Bar

2x1ea x 28 over 12'

1ea x 28 over 14'

1ea x 56 over 8'

1ea x 56 over 10'

1ea x 56 over 11'

3x1ea x 56 over 12'

My reps for 12 feet were:

R good, L miss

L good, R miss

R good, L miss

The 12 foot throw with my left arm was a PR up from 11 feet, but this is relatively meaningless as I throw righty.  Throws felt pretty good overall today though.

Atlas Stone Clean & Press (clean each rep)

5x135 - This set was just one clean and 5 presses.

6x135

5x135/1x175

4x135/2x175

Pressing atlas stones is risky business at best, much better to press rocks.  Maybe if I used tacky it might feel less death-defying, but as I can't use tacky on the rocks in my comp, I feel like that would be less helpful.

Yoke

80' x 250

80' x 340

80' x 430

80' x 520

2x80' x 610 - First run was trash, second run felt good.

90' x 700

The extra 10' was from moving the yoke back to make way for other athletes.  This sucked today, but that's what usually happens when I haven't done yoke in a while.

Backward Drags

80' x prowler + 90 - Way too easy.

2x80' x prowler + 140 - Still too easy.

8x100' x prowler + 180

These got so bad I considered dropping the weight back down to 140, but then reminded myself not to be a poop stain.  Probably shouldn't have increased both weight and distance by 25% at the same time.  This conditioning gave me the worst strongman low I've had in many moons and doing anything that involved getting up off the couch was pretty much out of the question for most of the rest of the day.
