I moved down to VA Beach on Sunday, started work at my clinical affiliation on Monday, and today was my first training day (though I use the term very loosely) as an official member of BRUTE STRENGTH GYM!  I have been training at Brute as a visitor for about 10 years now, but for the next 2 months I will officially be a member of one of my top 3 gyms of all time and the first truly gnarly gym I ever visited.

On the down side, I am all kinds of messed up right now in terms of my stress levels and CNS due to moving into a new apartment, starting a new job in a hospital, and just trying to establish a new routine for the next 2 months of my life, so I was feeling like drek today, but I wanted to just go to the gym and do something.  I did not push anything and everything felt pretty awful pretty quick, but I had a blast nonetheless.

Giant Cambered Bar Squats

10x45 (NOT 45)

6x135

3x225

3x275

3x315

I've never squatted with a GCB before and it made me so miserable and lit up my low back like the SS Yoke Bar lights up my upper back.  I definitely want to add one of these to the garage gym at some point in the future when I have a bigg(er) garage.

Monster Mondo Leg Press/Standing Calf Raise

20x1 plate/20x135

20x2 plates/20x135

The monster mondo leg press is one of the sickest pieces of equipment ever and I want one!  You can literally do anything with it including, but not limited to double leg and single leg with the plates locked together or moving independently, bands or reverse bands with any of the prior setups.  And to make it even better, the base weight is way heavier than normal which cuts down on having to load a million plates on and off it.  The foot plates are also humongous so you can use any imaginable foot position.  I'll be using this on a regular basis.

It was late, I was starving, and I still had a bunch of errands to run to procure the essentials to support my life like non-institutional toilet paper, almonds, and coffee.
