Block 12, Wave 1 - Events @ Iron Strong

I almost felt like a human being again today during training up until I was hitting about 90% or so of what I wanted to do for the day.  I managed to be smart on 2 of 3 events though, so at least I wasn't a complete dumb dumb.

Axle C&J

complex x 25

complex x 75

complex x 115

3x165

1x215

1x255

2x1x285 - First rep sucked so I repeated to get it right before going up.

2x1x305 - Both jerks were easy, but my continental cleans were getting worse and I actually missed a transition of my grip from underhand to overhand on the second set and ended up dropping it down onto my belt so I called it for overhead after that.

13" Deads (Texas Power Bar)

10x145

5x235

3x345

3x1x435 - Added Jack Pro DL suit here and did several sets to help get it seated right.

1x525

1x615

0x705 - This was a stupid jump and a stupid weight to go for today after a week from hell with school and not training much either in my suit or from 13" recently.  Bright side: I broke in the Proloc wheels I got for the strongman comp I'm running here next weekend and they are fanfreakingtastic.

1x665 - Dropped back down and nailed this easy.  Probably could have worked back up and gotten 705 since I'm pretty sure I just missed it because my setup was totally wrong, but I'll wait a little on that one til I am not a walking zombie.

Yoke

2x50' x 360

2x50' x 450

50' x 540

50' x 630

50' x 720

50' x 770

I tried out my grip shirt with the yoke today and it is certainly grippy, but I'm not sure if I like it for this event because due to the yoke feeling like it's glued to my back, any small shift of the implement caused me to veer off to the side much more than normal.  Put another way, it limited my ability to adjust to stay on a straight course.  This could be a good thing for training since it would make it more difficult, but with the state I was in, it was not a good thing for today.

I had wanted to do conditioning today, but all this took me 4 hours so I stopped and went home to shower, eat, and pass out on the couch before studying for my last final on Monday.
