So as most of my readers know I'm sponsored by Elite FTS along with Kabuki Strength. Because of this association with two of the best companies out there in the strength and conditioning world I have a pretty good Network that allows me some pretty amazing opportunities like attending a kabuki movement system seminar in Chicago.
Myself, Skyler Hjelm, and my chiropractor Trent Kozman all made the drive to Chicago on Friday morning in order to attend this three-day seminar and I could not be more happy with how it all turned out. I feel as though I have learned more over those three days then I have through countless webinars classroom settings and other conferences I have attended. The Kabuki strength team is a diverse group of people all possessing an incredible wealth of knowledge. Despite the overwhelming scope of the information they provide they are still able to portray their message in an easy-to-understand way whether you are a practitioner or just an athlete looking to get better as an attendee at one of these seminars.
The immediate feedback I and others witnessed in people's techniques and simply the way they would Breathe or stand in a relaxed state was astounding. For instance my fiance Skyler manage to hit a 20 lb deadlift PR at 425 simply due to some proprioceptive feedback and breathing techniques. This is also following 195 pounds for two on bench press and 265 pounds for two on front squats. I'm not saying that she was only strong enough to to the techniques and methods we learned at the seminar but that they acted as the stitching to bring all of the work she had put forth together and allowed her to express the strength that she had built over her past training Cycles.
That is the bottom line and the takeaway I received from this seminar. KMS is just another method and there are thousands of ways we can all get stronger and all get better but the ease at which this is taught and implemented is really where the difference is. I have been training for ten years now and because of these methods I'm confident that the training I do over the next few years will be exponentially more beneficial than the years prior. And it only took 3 days in order to initiate the thought process of changing and becoming better through these simple movements and cues.
We all knew I would come back and spout how amazing this seminar was but even I was surprised at how instant the changes would be. I am a passionate person and I try to live that way in everything that I do but the excitement that I feel now with this new knowledge and new method that I can give an Implement with the people I work with and myself is unrivaled by anything that I felt before.
If you have an opportunity to go to one of these seminars you would be dumb not to do so. They are pricey but the net benefit outweighs any type of monetary cost through registration or through travel. Living better through strength is too valuable of an option to pass up.
