Block 9, Wave 3 - Events @ Colosseum

I took it easy pretty much across the board today.  This is the last day of this training block and with twanging my back earlier in the week and no training partners since I didn't go in until around 2pm or so, I didn't have the fire in my belly today.  I did get what felt like some reasonable work done on odd object pressing and tire flipping, but nothing spectacular went down the pipes.

Odd Object C&P (clean each rep)

3x100 lb sandbag

1x200 lb keg

3x100 SB/2x200 keg

3x150 SB/2x200 keg

2x200 keg/3x150 SB

All the keg clean and presses were broken down into 2 movements with a pause after the clean before the press.  This made 200 feel more like 300 since I wasn't one-motioning it.  And the sandbag was just raining down what I can only assume was dried up old fecal matter dust into my eyes, nose, and mouth.  Good times.

Tire Flips

5x400 - One motion

2x10x700 - Not one motion

Tire flips felt pretty good, and the best they have since I started back to training them again.  Overall, this was probably the high point of training today.

Stone Shouldering

2x5x210 - Alternating shoulders

That was all she wrote for this event day.  I was fortunate enough to run into a double dragon training his snatch and C&J today when I was finishing up so we got to hang out for a while and I watched him do things in a silky smooth kind of fashion that my oly lifts definitely do not possess.  Even though I didn't violate any laws of physics, I felt good when I was done today and I'm ready for my next training block and the last 2 weeks of my clinical affiliation.
