This weekend I took a few easy days of training before I get into meet training for the Lexen Xtreme Fall Classic in October. I decided to just do some light doubles on box squat to work on my technique. For a while now I've had issues with rounding forward really bad when squatting up off a box, so I asked Dave Tate about it and he said the issue was I'm not releasing my hips on the box. Once he said it, it really stood out re-watching my videos again. I got into bad habits in the past of basically just squatting to the box and then shifting right into my quads instead of using my glutes/hamstrings to come up. Now that I know this is my issue I can keep working on it. I am starting to get a better feel for what my box squats should look like, I'll just need to keep working on it..
