Max Effort, Max learning..

You know you must look like a total struggle bus when your boss walks in on a Saturday and tells you that you need to consider an entire yoga series because it looks like you are about to explode like a rubber band (this really was said).  While, this has been a hard week for me in many ways, if I have extra time it was going to be spent lifting, and as a result I figured if yoga could provide me with some clarity and calmness, then so could anything else if I focused on making it happen.

So while I didn't leave work, but instead continued on with what I had to do, I did take a few moments to do some reflecting between experiments.

I'm not sure how my thoughts wandered to the concept of teamwork, but they did.   And then I came to a realization: so often do actions and words tell a different story, that if you don't consider other people's perspectives, it can be hard to make yourself the best version of a team player possible. A team player doesn't just try hard, they don't just play well, but they understand and consider the perspectives and outlooks of those playing with them. They consider where others are coming from, and then adapting so that they can bring about team synergy. While I think I've learned many things this week that I won't touch on, one thing that I will say is that I believe I might need to slow down long enough to do a better job of considering other people's perspectives. While it might not make the month better, it might just make me a little bit of a better person. Apparently eccentrics made me realize that I don't just need to break down muscle to make muscle, but I need to break down previous perspectives to get some new ones...
